The NBA will finally officially allow something they have been unofficially allowing for years:
The NBA has put into writing a rule allowing players on the move to gather the ball, after driving or catching it, and then take two steps. Throughout NBA history, the rulebook said players could take one step.There is no word on whether Patrick Ewing and Micahel Jordan will come out of retirement to see if they can now get away with three steps.
The new rule reads, in part: "A player who receives the ball while he is progressing or upon completion of a dribble, may take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball."

two steps? i thought that was always the rule. but i also thought daryl dawkins was the man so go figure...

Are they still calling tiny little bumps "fouls" when somebody is shooting? If so, are they going to work out a deal where they can share refs with ice dancing?
Truthfully, this is a good rule change, if they're not going to go back to enforcing the rule as previously written. Will stars still get special favors from the refs?

Two steps- that is all it take for some of these players to get from the 3 point line to the basket. Wander how the no charge area in the lane will be effected?
