80's Movie Line of the Week

Breaking the rules again. So I Married an Axe Murderer is from 1993, but I've been hanging out in San Francisco. This is the funniest comedy in the vicinity of the 80's that is set in San Francisco. You see how the logic works.

Stuart Mackenzie: Well, it's a well known fact, Sonny Jim, that there's a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.
Tony Giardino: So who's in this Pentavirate?
Stuart Mackenzie: The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"
Charlie Mackenzie: Dad, how can you hate "The Colonel"?
Stuart Mackenzie: Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly, smartass!

Now listen BSD, don't think I didn't remember Big Trouble in Little China. But someone, someone that shall remain nameless (but is you), reprimanded me for repeating movies when there are so many other good ones out there.

Plus, I always feel like I need a good reason for breaking the rules and I really wanted to do this quote.

You are correct that I had forgotten 48 Hours and Leonard Part 6. I may continue to forget Leonard Part 6.

i wasn't impling that you should have quoted BTLC, but that merely you should be careful when making outlandish claims such as this:

"This is the funniest comedy in the vicinity of the 80's that is set in San Francisco."

it's just not a true statement. however, i do applaud your willingness to shake things up a bit so i will let it slide.

as for leonard part VI, i can only assume that this film was to be the first in series of prequels working backwards in true Lucas fashion. it is certainly every bit as entertaining...

how bout Ghost dad? give the Cos some play, man!

Alright,

Good call on the ourageous claim.

I'll see if I can work Ghost Dad in somewhere. Leonard P6 probably isn't going to make the cut though.

Just sayin.
